American Praetorians Returns: New Pallas Group Solutions Books and the Research Behind the Fiction

I haven’t posted on this site in almost a year. I didn’t stop writing books, though. The next two Pallas Group Solutions Thrillers (House of War, March 2027, and Eye for an Eye, later in 2027) are already with Wargate Books, set for release next year. A third is in the works. This site is coming back, both for book news and exploration of the research and analysis that goes into the books.

What’s Next:

The new Pallas Group Solutions series will be slightly different from the first. Rather than focusing on the cartel/China alliance that’s been eroding the US from within, I’m returning to another enemy, one I haven’t concentrated on since the American Praetorians series: the next phase of the global jihad.

I have two more series in the works with Wargate, both of which are in the research phase. One is near-future warfare, which is requiring some more extensive study of the strategic and operational levels than I’ve done before, as well as fast-paced technological changes.

The second will be historical frontier stories, for a new Wargate imprint. If anything, that is requiring even more reading and study.

Cutting-Edge Research and Authenticity

Research has always stood hand in hand with my own experience as a Marine and a contractor in forming the authenticity of my fiction. I can draw on my training and experience for much of the action. The tech and geopolitics come in on top of that. For example, Escalation featured the widespread use of drones for reconnaissance and fire support in the battle for Nitra in Slovakia. That book was published in 2019, three years before the Russians launched the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, with the explosion of drone warfare that followed. Ukraine was not the first time drones had been used this way, however; only a larger scale. Drones have been increasingly utilized on multiple levels of warfare, conventional and irregular, for years now. ISIS was utilizing weaponized drones as far back as 2014, first as reconnaissance platforms, then eventually as crude strike weapons. The Mexican cartels, which had already seen some parallels with ISIS in the escalating arms race of savagery, soon followed suit, using them for recon, smuggling, and “aerial IEDs.”

The writing is always on the wall for those who go looking. I’ve tried to do the looking, and bring it to you, the reader, via a number of my military thrillers.

More soon.

I was wondering when you would be coming out with new books. I’ve read all of your older ones. I’m a fan, if that isn’t obvious. I will definitely be buying your new stories.
