Peter Nealen is a former Reconnaissance Marine and veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan. He deployed to Iraq in 2005-2006, and again in 2007, with 1st Platoon, Bravo Company, 1st Recon Bn. After two years of schools and workups, including Scout/Sniper Basic and Team Leader’s Courses, he deployed to Afghanistan with 4th Platoon, Force Reconnaissance Company, I MEF.

I just wanted to pop in and say that I loved The Lost. Raw, harsh and dark- the writing style and story were captivating and I can’t wait to see what happens next in the universe. Also I listened to the audio books and I have to say that Mark Boyett Killed it.
Love your books Peter! Your attention to detail on all things military and the details of the AO makes me feel as if I’m there. The mental pictures I can create through your outline of terrain and the battlefield make it an experience, not a book. Keep doing what you’re doing and pump those books out because I can’t wait for the next in the series.

I finished the NWD series last month, the books are very realistic in light of how global events regarding the economy, politics and society, among other areas, have happened. I started reading the Lost series and have purchased all the books, in book 3 now, and looking forward to reading the others. Having been a reader for 40 odd years, in a wide variety of topics, his books are comparable to Tom Clancy and Terry Brooks, to my view. That may sound like bragging, and in a way I guess it is, but I have never met Peter, so have nothing to gain by giving the shout out. I will continue to purchase his books.
